TikTok is not the only reason that the internet is like this, but it is a part of it.

Let's be real, short-form video, an addictive infinite scroll, and people using social media to be dumb and sensationalist were not exactly new and exciting concepts when the clock app first hit our screens, but it definitely took them all to the next level. Look at any meme page or viral post on another platform, and there is a good chance that it was taken from TikTok to be dispersed even further throughout the internet. It does not matter if the For You Page is the last place you would ever want to visit; it is likely to find you during a doomscroll session somehow.

TikTok's detractors may argue that this is not a good thing, but arguably, we could consider it a form of damage control. It prevents a lot of people from spending more time than they might perusing the endless array of videos by giving them a summary of some of the random stuff that has happened to go viral enough that it has broken the confines of the platform. Also, it takes a real hater to not admit that even if there are downsides to the place, a lot of TikToks are genuinely amusing. They can even give us something to think about now and then. You do not have to be a convert to a TikToker's way of expressing themselves and doing things to chuckle occasionally about the things that they talk about, and this list is proof of that. Don't deprive yourself of the potential for entertainment.
